Meta Acquires AI Agent Social Network Moltbook; Founders to Join Meta Super Intelligence Lab

Meta recently acquired Moltbook, a once-popular AI agent social network. Founders Matt Schlicht and Ben Parr will join Meta's Super Intelligence Lab (MSL), led by former Scale AI CEO Alexandr Wang. The deal is expected to close in mid-March, with the founders officially joining MSL on March 16.

Meta did not disclose the acquisition price. Existing Moltbook users can continue using the platform, but this arrangement is temporary. A Meta spokesperson stated that the Moltbook team's addition will open new paths for AI agents to serve individuals and enterprises, with their agent authentication and interconnection system facilitating interaction and collaboration between agents.
