Meta Acquires Physical AI Model Startup ARI to Advance Humanoid Robot Intelligence Research

Meta recently completed the acquisition of Assured Robot Intelligence (ARI), a startup specializing in physical AI models. ARI focuses on robot intelligence, enabling robots to understand, predict, and adapt to human behavior in complex and dynamic environments. Its team will apply cutting-edge technologies in model design, robot control, and autonomous learning to full-body humanoid robot control.

ARI's co-founder stated that the company's mission is to achieve physical General Artificial Intelligence (AGI). They believe general physical intelligent agents need to have humanoid forms and learn directly from human experience rather than relying on remote control. In the future, the ARI team will join Meta's Superintelligence Labs to jointly advance personal superintelligence into the physical world.
