Meta Launches First Muse Series AI Model Muse Spark, Focusing on Efficient Reasoning and Multi-Scenario Use Cases

Meta has launched a new AI model called Muse Spark, the first product of its Superintelligence Labs' Muse series, led by former Scale AI CEO Alexandr Wang. The model is small and efficient, with a computational cost an order of magnitude lower than the old medium-sized Llama 4, yet it can handle complex tasks in science, math, and healthcare.

In the coming weeks, Muse Spark will be integrated into Meta apps like Facebook and Instagram, as well as Ray-Ban Meta AI smart glasses. It also supports a shopping mode to help users select products. For complex queries, it will introduce a "Contemplating mode" that uses multiple AI agents for parallel reasoning, matching the performance of cutting-edge models. Meta plans to open the technology to developers via APIs and consider open-sourcing future versions of the model.
