Meta to shut down Llama API by July 2026, but models remain available
Meta announced that its Llama API will be shut down on July 6, 2026. The service has been in public preview since launch. After that date, all API requests will return a shutdown notice with redirection info.
The Llama models themselves are not affected. Users can still download them from Meta's website. Meta suggests users switch to third-party providers that support Llama models and hints at new ways to use Meta AI models in the future.
