Microsoft Launches Low-Cost, High-Speed Text-to-Image Model MAI-Image-2-Efficient with 41% Cost Cut

Microsoft recently launched MAI-Image-2-Efficient, a low-cost and high-speed version of its flagship text-to-image model. The model boasts a 22% speed increase, 4x efficiency improvement, and 41% cost reduction, priced at $5 per million text tokens and $19.5 per million image outputs.

Positioned as a mass-production model, it's ideal for generating product photos and UI prototypes in bulk, handling short texts and in-image text stably. Currently available commercially on Microsoft Foundry and MAI Playground, it will soon be integrated into Copilot and Bing.
