Microsoft Teams to Launch Facilitator AI Assistant for Real-Time Meeting Chat
Microsoft plans to launch Facilitator, a meeting coordination assistant for Teams, in August 2026. It analyzes real-time conversations, identifies questions or unclear expressions, and provides answers in the chat.
Facilitator is off by default and doesn't speak during meetings. Users can turn it on, and admins control visibility. It triggers less than once per meeting, based on the agenda and chat. Works only for standard Teams meetings, not calls or webinars.
Microsoft says Facilitator processes meeting dialogue to spot knowledge gaps and may search the web for context. It starts rolling out to Targeted Release users in early August 2026, with full release later that month.
