MIIT Launches Pilot Plan for AI Ethics Review and Service to Support Responsible Innovation

As AI technology develops rapidly, ethical governance has become a key issue for high-quality industry development. Recently, China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) issued a notice to formally launch the Pilot Plan for AI Ethics Review and Service. This plan relies on provinces with national AI industry innovation application pilot zones to take the lead in exploring the implementation path of AI ethics review and service, and improve a collaborative governance mechanism with multi-party participation.

The plan clarifies the specific operational paths for local government departments and various innovation entities to promote the implementation of ethics review. Through setting key tasks, it aims to accumulate experience in practice, improve systems, and steadily advance the in-depth development of AI ethics governance with Chinese characteristics, supporting responsible AI innovation and high-quality industrial development.
