Momenta shares "large models define chips" vision, X7 Ultra chip launched
At the XHEART launch event, Momenta CEO Cao Xudong shared the company's third insight for the first time — "large models define chips." The company previously formed two insights around scalable L4: solving long-tail problems with data, and gaining massive data through mass production.
Cao explained that scalable L4 needs models with 10 to 100 billion parameters, and regular chips cannot balance power, car-grade reliability, and cost at once. He believes only chips defined by large model needs can support such models and push forward robots and other physical AI applications.
At the event, XHEART CEO Li Zonglin launched the new X7 Ultra chip built for large models. It uses a super-large NPU core with TB/s interconnect speed, and features the first mass-produced Armv9 car-grade CPU with 20% more performance and 10% better energy efficiency.
