Musk Seeks TSMC Partnership for Terafab Chip Plant in Texas

TSMC Chairman and CEO C.C. Wei said Musk plans to launch the Terafab mega chip factory project in Texas, USA, and hopes to work with TSMC. TSMC has already sent a team from Arizona to Texas for evaluation and has had early talks with the customer. Details are still under discussion.

Wei stressed that if the two sides start working together, the factory must be run by TSMC. This is a key condition for the deal.

Earlier, Musk shared his vision for Terafab: Tesla and SpaceX plan to make and test about 10 chips a year at the Giga Texas research site in Texas to speed up chip development.
