Neuralink Co-founder Hodak: AI and BCIs Will Enhance Human Potential, 2035 May Mark New Era of Human Evolution
On the podcast 'How to Build the Future', Neuralink co-founder Max Hodak shared his vision for the future of AI and brain-computer interfaces (BCIs). He believes AI should not just be a computing tool, but a partner integrated with biological systems to enhance human potential. However, he noted current AI excels at specific tasks but lacks general intelligence and consciousness, unable to truly understand the world like humans.
Hodak's Science Inc. is developing BCIs to deepen the connection between the human brain and AI. A recent breakthrough allows users to perceive visual input without eyes via occipital cortex stimulation. He emphasized this is not only for medical recovery but also for daily cognitive enhancement, enabling new ways of interaction.
Hodak predicted that by 2035, AI and BCIs will bring an 'event horizon' redefining human conditions. He even boldly stated the first person to live to 1000 may already be born, and the world is in a period of extraordinary change.
