Notion Mail to shut down in September 2026, shifting to AI agents

Notion announced it will shut down its AI email client Notion Mail on September 22, 2026. The service launched in April 2025, lasting only about 17 months. Notion Mail focused on AI-powered email handling, aiming to adapt the inbox to user habits.

Notion said over half of users already manage emails through Notion agents without opening their inbox. So Notion is shifting focus from an AI-assisted email client to letting agents run email directly. Users must export drafts and scheduled emails by September 21, 2026, or they will be permanently deleted.
