Nvidia and Naver team up on $1 billion AI factory expansion in Korea
Nvidia signed a $1 billion investment deal with South Korean internet giant Naver to expand its NVIDIA DSX AI factory in Korea to 200 megawatts. The factory will use Nvidia's latest platforms like Vera Rubin and Blackwell to provide AI computing power for AI companies in Korea and the US, helping them build next-gen AI models, agents, and services.
Nvidia is also working with Brookfield Asset Management, which could provide up to $9 billion in funding. Brookfield has been investing in Korea since 2014 and manages about $12 billion in Korean assets across infrastructure, real estate, and energy.
Naver plans to eventually expand the AI factory to 1 gigawatt. It also plans to launch an AI Agent platform later this year, built on Nvidia's Agent Toolkit. This move is set to boost AI development in Korea.
