Nvidia Launches AI Platform for Medical Robots, Including World's Largest Surgical Video Dataset Open-H
Nvidia announced the launch of its first domain-specific physical AI platform for medical robots at GTC 2026, featuring four core components: the Open-H dataset, Cosmos-H open model family, GR00T-H VLA model, and Rheo development blueprint.
Open-H is the world's largest medical robot dataset, with 776 hours of surgical videos covering 11 robot system instances and 4 surgical indications. Cosmos-H models can evaluate medical robot decisions via prompts, images, or videos; GR00T-H converts text commands for clinical tasks into action tokens; Rheo creates physically accurate hospital environment simulations.
Currently, Open-H, Cosmos-H, and GR00T-H are available on GitHub and Hugging Face for developers to conduct follow-up training and adjust for specific surgical scenarios.
