Nvidia's Investment in Groq to Drive Over 10x Growth in LPU AI Chip Shipments
Hong Kong Tianfeng International Securities analyst Guo Mingji stated that Nvidia's investment in Groq will drive LPU AI chip shipments to grow more than 10 times, with a total of 4 to 5 million units expected to be shipped between 2026 and 2027.
Nvidia plans to increase the number of LPUs per LPX cabinet from the current 64 to 256 to maintain low latency advantages in the inference decoding phase and meet the growing KV cache demand from long text reasoning. The new LPX cabinets are expected to enter mass production from Q4 2026 to Q1 2027, with a total shipment of about 15,000 to 20,000 units over two years.
The growth in LPU demand mainly comes from the market's increasing need for ultra-low latency inference and the integration of Nvidia's ecosystem, which is also of great significance to the PCB industry.
