OpenAI Admits Messy GPT-6 Astra Launch, Offers Compensation
OpenAI CEO Sam Altman admitted on X that the rollout of GPT-6 Astra was "messy." The model launched on September 3 and was touted as its "smartest" version, but enterprise security customers got access before Pro subscribers, upsetting high-paying Pro users.
To ease frustration, OpenAI said that starting September 4, paid users will get a credit reset for each day they missed Astra access. The model is now available to all Plus, Pro, Enterprise, Business, and Business Premium users.
