OpenAI CEO Sam Altman to visit South Korea this Sunday, meet with Samsung, Naver, Kakao

According to Korean media, OpenAI CEO Sam Altman will visit South Korea this Sunday (June 14) and plans to meet with executives from Samsung Electronics, Naver, and Kakao. On the morning of June 15, Altman will head to Kakao Agit office in Seongnam to meet with Kakao CEO Jeong Shin-ah. The two sides are expected to discuss further business collaboration, including integrating ChatGPT into Kakao Talk. Kakao formed a strategic partnership with OpenAI last February to co-develop AI services.

Altman will also visit Naver and Samsung Electronics. OpenAI hasn't established an official partnership with Naver yet, but industry insiders say the two sides will hold working-level talks to explore potential cooperation. Altman also plans to attend a Samsung DX division employee lecture to discuss how AI will shape the future.
