OpenAI Doubles ChatGPT Pro Quotas After User Backlash

OpenAI had planned to cut the ChatGPT Pro 200 quota by about half, citing better model efficiency, and move existing users to a lower tier. Users pushed back hard, saying the same price for half the benefits broke its promise to paying customers. Facing the backlash, OpenAI canceled the plan and immediately raised the usage limits for Work and Codex in ChatGPT Pro and Business Premium plans. Quotas for Pro 100, Pro 200, and Pro 500 are now doubled. New subscribers get the updated quotas right away, and current users don't need to wait for renewal. The extended usage of the Dots AI assistant is still counted separately. OpenAI also notes that double quota doesn't mean double the work. Fast mode burns through quota about 2.5 times faster than standard mode, and Ultrafast can use it up 8 times faster.
