OpenAI Founder Sam Altman's Residence Attacked with Molotov Cocktail; Suspect Arrested by SF Police
OpenAI founder and CEO Sam Altman's residence was recently attacked with a Molotov cocktail, and the San Francisco Police Department has arrested a suspect. The suspect also made threatening acts outside OpenAI's San Francisco headquarters.
OpenAI stated that no one was injured in the incident, thanked the police for their quick response and the city government's support, and is assisting the police with the investigation. Altman has not yet made a public statement on the matter.
The San Francisco Police Department said officers responded to a fire investigation at a North Beach residence, and the suspect fled on foot. Later, they received a report from a shop near OpenAI's headquarters about a man threatening to burn down the building. Officers recognized the man as the earlier suspect and arrested him immediately; the suspect is a 20-year-old male.
