OpenAI hires former xAI sales lead for cybersecurity push
According to Bloomberg, OpenAI has hired Graham Seaman, a former sales chief at xAI, to lead sales for its cybersecurity business. Seaman led the xAI sales team from August 2025 and helped pitch the Grok chatbot to Wall Street clients. Before that, he spent about 8 years at MongoDB.
This is the latest move in OpenAI's talent grab from Elon Musk's AI business. Since September, OpenAI has also hired Cursor's former global sales chief as its global sales VP, and brought in a former senior VP for Europe, the Middle East and Africa to run sales there.
It has also picked up xAI's former infrastructure engineering lead and a former data center manager, who now handle the compute business and data center construction.
OpenAI wants to grow its business ahead of a possible IPO, boosting enterprise revenue and exploring ads as a new income source. Musk once sued OpenAI over its shift to a for-profit model but lost. His xAI has since been merged into SpaceX.
