Palantir CEO slams OpenAI and Anthropic for charging twice and stealing data
Palantir CEO Alex Karp publicly criticized leading AI companies like OpenAI and Anthropic, accusing them of running a problematic business model. He says these firms charge customers high token fees while also stealing valuable business data through their services.
In a CNBC interview, Karp revealed that many US companies are furious about paying high monthly AI bills while having their business data—like weights and alpha (which represent their processes and data connections)—stolen by AI firms.
Karp described this as a "double charge" model: selling access to large language models (LLMs) while using customer data to improve those models, putting clients at risk of having their core business processes copied or replaced.
