Qualcomm launches data center AI chips, plans custom products for China

Qualcomm has unveiled its new line of data center AI chips, entering the market to compete with Nvidia. The products include AI accelerators designed specifically for China, complying with US export rules.

CEO Cristiano Amon said the company will bring all four data center product lines to China, with versions tailored to meet export guidelines. He is optimistic about ongoing talks with Chinese customers.

Amon noted Qualcomm's strong presence in China and partnerships with smartphone and car makers will help drive its data center business. This move marks a key step for Qualcomm in the AI chip race.
