Samsung boss meets OpenAI CEO to talk AI chips

Lee Jae-yong, chairman of Samsung Electronics, met OpenAI CEO Sam Altman in San Francisco to discuss AI and semiconductor cooperation. They talked about HBM and DRAM chip collaboration plans. Since last October, Samsung and OpenAI have been working together on advanced memory production and AI infrastructure. An insider said OpenAI sees Samsung and SK Hynix as key partners, and they will keep deepening ties given the urgency of AI investment. Details of the deal and investment size are not yet public.
