SK Group and Nvidia team up in $500 billion AI deal to build massive AI factory

SK Group and Nvidia have announced a massive AI partnership worth over $500 billion. SK Telecom will build a 2-gigawatt AI cloud computing center using Nvidia's Vera Rubin DSX platform and SK Hynix's HBM4 memory. The first AI factory is set to launch in 2027. SK Group will use Nvidia's full-stack AI factory setup to develop large-scale infrastructure for sovereign AI, physical AI, and more. SK Hynix will work closely with Nvidia to develop next-gen AI memory like HBM. Jensen Huang, Nvidia's CEO, said South Korea has what it takes to become a global AI powerhouse. SK Group's chairman said this deal will help South Korea move from just using AI to becoming a global AI innovation hub.
