SK Hynix plans to bring in outside AI models for work

South Korean chipmaker SK Hynix is thinking about using more AI tech to change how work gets done. CEO Kwak Noh-jung said at a recent meeting they're checking out outside generative AI models, trying to balance protecting tech secrets with using more AI.

Kwak said they're looking at Microsoft 365 and Copilot, and also checking ChatGPT for safety and system setup. They plan to start using outside AI in areas not related to core tech, then slowly expand. The company already has an AI service based on open-source solutions.
