Sony patents AI that mimics minors to catch bad actors
Sony Interactive Entertainment has filed a new patent that uses large language models to create AI accounts that mimic the way minors chat. These accounts are placed in scenarios where potential bad actors might look for targets. When a suspicious user interacts with the AI account, the system analyzes the conversation for risky behavior. If the user shows signs of trouble, they get flagged as a potential danger and are watched closely. Later, if that user contacts a real player, the system can warn the player or take protective steps. Just chatting with the AI isn't enough for punishment, but repeated bad behavior could lead to a ban. It's still unknown if this tech will actually come to PlayStation, but it shows Sony is exploring ways to use AI to keep players safe.
