Stanford Report: AI Experts Optimistic About Tech Prospects, But US Public Grows More Anxious
Stanford University's annual AI report reveals a growing divide between AI experts and the U.S. public on their views of the technology. While about half of Gen Z use AI frequently, young people's expectations for the technology have decreased and dissatisfaction has increased, making them the main group with negative sentiment.
Data shows that only 10% of Americans feel more excited than worried about AI's daily applications, while 56% of experts believe AI will have a positive impact on the U.S. in the next 20 years. Additionally, U.S. public trust in their government's AI regulation is the lowest globally (31%), with 41% of respondents thinking federal regulation is insufficient.
