Survey: 81% of Job Seekers Rejected Without Any Human Contact
According to TechRadar, recruiting platform Greenhouse surveyed over 1,100 job seekers in the UK and Ireland. The findings show AI screening is reshaping job hunting, and Gen Z candidates understand it far better than people over 60.
The data shows 81% of applicants were rejected after just sending in a resume, with no contact with HR at all. 97% want to show skills that don't fit on a resume. In the past 12 months, 42% of candidates went through an AI interview, and 57% said it gave them a real chance to show their skills.
Greenhouse Chief People Officer Sharawn Tipton said both sides now agree the hiring process is broken: applications sink without a trace, while employers must pick from piles of nearly identical AI-polished resumes. Job seekers need a system that gives them a fair shot.
