Tencent Hunyuan-powered robot starts working at 7-ELEVEN store in China
The 2,000th 7-ELEVEN store in Guangdong opened at Tencent's headquarters campus in Shenzhen on October 29. On opening day, a smart robot with the WeChat Pay logo started working in the store for the first time. The robot handles tasks like greeting customers, guiding shopping, and taking orders. It can recommend products and deals, help customers place orders, and customers simply scan a QR code to pay. This frees up staff to restock items, heat food, and serve people in person. The robot is built on Tencent's Hunyuan model. Its strong conversation skills help the store with daily sales, payments, and operations. It also uses Tencent's Tianlai audio solution, so it can hear customers clearly even in a noisy store.
