Top 10 Science Buzzwords of 2026 Released, with 7 AI-Related Terms

The China Science Writers Association has released its top 10 science buzzwords of 2026. AI-related terms took seven spots, including "AI+", "human-machine collaboration", "brain-computer interface", "AI agent", "humanoid robot", "token" and "embodied intelligence". The other three are "science toys", "tech ethics" and "health management".

These words show how AI is quickly entering daily life and work, creating a need for new knowledge. "Token" is the basic unit AI models use to process information, and it is now the officially recommended Chinese name for the English word. "AI agent" entered the Government Work Report for the first time, while brain-computer interfaces and embodied intelligence were listed as future industries to develop.

As for humanoid robots, Beijing Yizhuang held a half marathon to test their movement control and adaptability. Ten government departments issued new AI ethics review rules to refine tech ethics governance. Health management reflects people's growing focus on prevention and a science-based lifestyle.
