University of Science and Technology of China Approved for China's First Undergraduate Major in Business AI, Enrollment Starts Fall 2026

The University of Science and Technology of China (USTC) has recently been approved by the Ministry of Education to add an undergraduate major in Business AI, becoming the first university in China to offer this program. Enrollment is scheduled to start in the fall of 2026.

With the deep development of the digital economy, there is an increasing demand for interdisciplinary talents who understand both AI technology and business management. The major is not purely technology-oriented; it focuses on the integration of AI in business scenarios, covering cutting-edge content such as AI business model innovation and AI governance.

In terms of training objectives, students will systematically master core theories of AI and business management, and develop eight key competencies including intelligent data analysis and human-machine collaborative decision-making to meet the needs of future industrial intelligent upgrading.
