US partially lifts export ban on Anthropic, Mythos 5 back for US agencies

The US government has partially lifted export controls on Anthropic. Two weeks ago, Anthropic had to pull its Fable 5 and Mythos 5 models due to the restrictions. Now, after reaching some agreement, the US allows Anthropic to offer Mythos 5 access to over 100 US agencies, including government bodies and large companies.

The reason for the initial ban remains unclear, but rumors say Amazon CEO Andy Jassy reported a 'jailbreak' incident to the US Treasury Secretary, raising concerns about model misuse. Anthropic is now in talks to also restore Fable 5, but no official announcement yet.
