US to partially lift export ban on Anthropic's AI models

Sources say the Trump administration is about to allow Anthropic to reopen its Fable 5 model. After export controls on June 12, Anthropic shut down both Mythos 5 and Fable 5. Insiders expect the Fable 5 ban to lift as early as next week. The US has already approved Claude Mythos 5 for some trusted US institutions, partly reversing the earlier order. Fable 5 is for public use, while Mythos has fewer safety restrictions.
