Visa and OpenAI team up to let AI agents make payments

Financial giant Visa has partnered with AI company OpenAI to help AI agents make payments. Visa will bring its global payment network and security tools to OpenAI's products, making transactions safer.

Under the deal, Visa will provide services like payment tokenization, authorization systems, and fraud detection for AI-powered transactions. Even when an AI agent acts for a user, the user still keeps full control over all payments.

OpenAI and Visa will also explore adding payment features to developer tools. Future use cases could include managing credit card rewards, premium financial services, and small business lending.
