WeChat tests AI agents that chat with friends' AI for you

WeChat is testing a new feature called 'Xiaowei AI Social'. It lets your AI assistant 'Xiaowei' talk directly to your friend's 'Xiaowei'. You just tell your Xiaowei what you need, and it goes to your friend's Xiaowei to chat. After they talk, the result comes back to you. You only step in when your approval is needed. This is different from sending a message for you. The chat between the two AIs doesn't show up in your normal chat window, only inside Xiaowei.

WeChat already gave some testers access to Xiaowei. They can see a Xiaowei icon at the top left of the main screen. It supports voice and text commands, like changing settings, sending messages, or ordering food and rides through mini programs. Xiaowei can also search videos and articles, generate images, and make notes. The feature is still in testing, and it's not clear when everyone will get it.
