Wolfspeed Launches First Commercial 10kV SiC Power MOSFET to Support AI Data Center Grids

AI data centers have high requirements for power system stability and efficiency. Wolfspeed launched the industry's first commercial 10kV SiC power MOSFET this week, providing key support for such scenarios. This product has a lifespan of up to 158,000 hours. After structural simplification, its cost is reduced by 30%, power density increased by 300%, and conversion efficiency reaches 99%. It also avoids the temperature arc degradation problem of traditional switches. It can be applied in AI data center grids, geothermal power generation and other fields, bringing greater design freedom to high-voltage power electronic systems.
