The 2026 Xiaomi 7th Hackathon awards ceremony was held at Xiaomi Technology Park in Beijing. Organized by Xiaomi's Technology Committee, the event started on August 1. A total of 284 teams signed up, with nearly 1,000 participants. In the end, 149 teams and 505 contestants entered the 48-hour extreme development phase, setting a new record for scale.
This year, the event expanded to universities for the first time, covering 94 schools including Peking University, Wuhan University, and the Chinese University of Hong Kong, attracting 145 teams. A new Best MiMo Application Award was added, with 3 winning projects selected.
The winning project Xiaomi Smart Home Assistant uses Xiaomi MiMo to understand customers' natural language descriptions and combines real product databases with floor plans to generate whole-home smart solutions. Reme targets elderly people living alone, using cameras, microphones, and millimeter-wave radar to perform posture recognition and risk assessment locally. Lingban NexPet explores the combination of AI companionship and physical hardware, allowing users to customize avatars and voices through photos and recordings, with perception computing done locally as much as possible.
Other winning projects cover AI glasses, smart cockpits, and accessible interaction, deeply integrating AI with imaging, automotive hardware, and sign language recognition.
