2026 Beijing Yizhuang Half Marathon to Introduce First Human-Robot Co-Running Mode, Finisher Medals Announced
The 2026 Beijing Yizhuang Half Marathon and Humanoid Robot Half Marathon will kick off on April 19, with the official finisher medals announced. The front of the medal features a mechanical mecha design, with metal texture and bold lines, full of technological sense; the back presents Yizhuang's landmark buildings through 3D carving, showing the city's style.
The medal innovatively uses an expandable structure—when unfolded, it becomes a humanoid robot body, combining with the circular main body to form a vivid robot shape, which is both ornamental and interactive. This event will introduce the 'human-robot co-running' mode for the first time, with 12,000 human runners competing alongside intelligent robots. It sets up autonomous navigation and remote control groups, with rules encouraging autonomous completion to promote breakthroughs in robots' core capabilities.
Tang Jian from Beijing Humanoid Robot Innovation Center revealed that the participating teams aim for the human half-marathon champion record, striving to finish within one hour.
