AI Agents Fuel Rapid Growth of 'One-Person Companies' in China, OpenClaw Plays Key Role
Data from Alibaba International Station shows that 30% to 40% of its clients are single entrepreneurs, and AI agents are driving the rapid growth of 'one-person companies' in China. These companies rely on AI tools to operate, completing product development and business operations without employees.
Some cities in China are attracting such enterprises with free housing, office space, and subsidies up to about 4.984 million yuan. However, single entrepreneurs face challenges in non-core tasks like product listing and customer complaints, which AI agents are filling.
The open-source AI agent OpenClaw has become popular in China, further promoting the rise of 'one-person companies' and spawning applications in scenarios like stock trading and blind dates. Zhang Kuo, general manager of Alibaba International Station, said AI agents are 'employees' for entrepreneurs, not replacements, and OpenClaw has raised market awareness of AI agents.
