AI-generated video used to spread rumors of delivery riders reusing fallen noodles; involved netizen detained

Recently, Shanghai Qingpu Public Security Bureau cracked a case of spreading rumors about delivery riders using AI-generated videos. Netizen Liu downloaded an AI-generated video showing a delivery rider reusing fallen noodles, removed the 'AI-generated' label, and posted it to gain attention. Netizens Gao and Wu commented with false information, causing negative impacts. Currently, Liu has been detained, while Gao and Wu received administrative penalties.

Meituan stated that it will firmly protect riders' rights and cooperate with relevant departments to crack down on such rumor-mongering behavior. There have been multiple similar cases before, such as people staging emotional videos of riders for profit, all of which were handled according to law.
