Amap Launches AI Travel Warning Guide to Predict 15 Types of Trip Risks

Amap has launched a 'Travel Warning Guide 1.0' in response to earlier rumors about a 'landmine list.' The feature simulates a user's travel plan across 15 factors, including business hours, trip pace, parking tips, and crowd forecasts, to help predict risks like wasted trips, traffic jams, and delays.

Recently, screenshots of a new Amap feature circulated on social media. Users said Amap was testing a 'landmine list' covering restaurants, attractions, hotels, parking, and malls, ranking businesses on negative lists for queues, experiences, and hygiene based on user reviews.

However, tests show the current 'Travel Warning Guide' is not a list product but an AI chat feature inside the Amap app. Users can ask the AI about things to watch out for when visiting a place.
