Amazon's AI Initiatives Gain Investor Confidence, Market Cap Nears $3 Trillion
Investors are growing more bullish on Amazon’s AI initiatives, pushing its stock price higher. The company’s market capitalization now stands at $2.9 trillion, inching closer to the $3 trillion milestone.
Stephen Lee, founding head of Logan Capital Management (an Amazon shareholder), stated: “We are confident Amazon’s AI strategy is working and will deliver strong growth returns in the next few years.” Since its March low, Amazon’s stock has surged 36%, making it the fourth-largest contributor to the S&P 500 index. Its 27% gain in April marked the best monthly performance since 2007.
Amazon’s latest earnings report shows AWS (its cloud unit) posted its fastest quarterly sales growth in over three years, reflecting strong AI demand. The company also noted it has over $225 billion in revenue commitments related to its custom AI chip, Trainium.
