Anthropic Acquires Stainless: Secures Key AI Development Tools with Over €280M Deal

Anthropic recently announced the acquisition of software infrastructure startup Stainless, with industry sources indicating the deal exceeds €280 million. Stainless focuses on API developer interfaces and its technology plays a key role in the AI toolchain.

Stainless' core capability lies in automatically creating and maintaining SDKs. It can convert API specifications directly into multi-language deployment tools (supporting Python, TypeScript, etc.) and auto-update code when APIs change, significantly reducing manual maintenance costs for developers.

After the acquisition, Stainless will stop providing hosting services to external clients. Existing clients can keep their generated code but won't receive official updates. Anthropic has locked in key connectivity layer capabilities for AI agent development through this acquisition, enhancing control over product iteration and external collaboration.
