Anthropic overtakes OpenAI in enterprise adoption rate for first time, with 34.4% paid usage per Ramp data

Financial tech firm Ramp's latest AI index shows Anthropic has overtaken OpenAI in enterprise paid adoption rate for the first time. Data indicates that 34.4% of participating companies are paying to use Anthropic's products, higher than OpenAI's 32.3%. The index is based on a sample of over 50,000 companies using Ramp, which has certain reference value.

Anthropic saw significant growth over the past year: only 9% of enterprises paid for its products in May 2025, rising to 34.4% a year later; OpenAI's share dropped slightly by 1% in the same period. A Ramp economist noted that Anthropic's strategy of starting with tech users was effective, and it later expanded its user base via tools, but whether the advantage will last remains to be seen.
