Anthropic Plans to Raise Tens of Billions This Summer, Targeting $1 Trillion Valuation to Surpass OpenAI

According to the Financial Times, U.S. AI company Anthropic is considering raising tens of billions of dollars this summer to significantly expand its computing capacity. After this funding round, the company's valuation is expected to approach $1 trillion, surpassing OpenAI.

Anthropic was valued at about $380 billion in February this year. Its revenue is growing rapidly, with annualized revenue soon to exceed $45 billion, a fivefold increase from the end of last year. Investment firms like Dragoneer have expressed interest; the pre-funding valuation may reach $900 billion, with the funding amount up to $50 billion, possibly completed within two months.

Investors hope to build positions before Anthropic's possible IPO at the end of the year, and existing investors have also requested to participate in this round. The company may prioritize institutional investors with public and private equity experience, but no specific terms have been finalized yet.
