Anthropic raises $65 billion, nearing trillion-dollar valuation

AI startup Anthropic has raised $65 billion in its latest funding round, reaching a post-money valuation of $965 billion. This could be its last private fundraising before going public.

The round was led by Altimeter Capital, Dragoneer, Greenoaks, and Sequoia Capital, with participation from Blackstone, DST Global, and strategic investors like Samsung, SK Hynix, and Micron. Amazon had already invested $5 billion in April.

Anthropic says the new funds will go toward AI safety research, expanding computing resources, and growing its partner ecosystem. The company's business has accelerated as more enterprises adopt products like Claude Code.
