Anthropic Signs $1.8B Computing Deal with Akamai to Meet Surge in AI Demand

Amid surging AI demand, AI startup Anthropic has signed an $1.8 billion computing agreement with U.S. CDN giant Akamai Technologies to meet growing AI software needs.

Akamai previously mentioned a long-term partnership with a leading model provider in its earnings report. Post-news, its stock rose 25% on Thursday and another 28% on Friday to $149.05.

Neither party commented on the deal. Akamai expects Q2 revenue to hit $1.08B-$1.1B, aligning with analysts' expectations.
