Apple Launches Siri AI: New Voice Customization and Hardware Requirements
Apple announced Siri AI at WWDC26, offering a new voice experience. Users can adjust Siri's voice expressiveness and pace with a slider for personalization. The feature is available only to US users in the iOS 27 developer beta.
Siri AI works system-wide, reads screen content, and interacts with apps, with a dedicated app and Dynamic Island bubbles. The voice input engine handles capitalization, punctuation, and formatting in real-time for better accuracy.
Hardware requirements include iPhone Air, iPhone 17 Pro, iPads with M4 chips and 12GB RAM, and Macs with M3 chips and 12GB RAM. Apple calls it a 'new version of Siri,' more conversational and powerful.
