Bain survey: Companies see less cost savings from AI than expected
A new Bain survey shows that big companies around the world aren't saving as much money from AI and automation as they hoped. The study looked at 951 firms with over $100 million in revenue across nine industries like retail, tech, and healthcare.
40% of the companies said AI only cut their costs by 10% or less, which is way lower than what most expected. Bain warns that current AI investments are based on digital predictions, not real results.
The main reason? Most companies can't get or use their own data properly. Bain suggests companies start using the data they already have to train AI models, then use AI to organize the rest of their data step by step.
