ByteDance's AI Programming Tool Trae's SOLO Launches Desktop & Web Versions, Starts Closed Beta Today

SOLO, an Agent product under ByteDance's AI programming tool Trae, has recently launched desktop and web versions and started closed beta testing. The desktop version currently only supports macOS. The Chinese version can be downloaded via trae.cn, while the international web version is available at solo.trae.ai—both require an invite code and are free for a limited time.

SOLO offers two modes: Code mode for programming scenarios, and MTC mode for general tasks like plan writing and data analysis, catering to roles such as R&D and product management. The new version features a three-column workspace, uses cloud computing to handle multiple tasks in parallel, automatically breaks down requirements and calls tools to execute them, supports formats like JSON, Python, and PPTX, with results displayed directly in the panel.
