China Mobile and Huawei Jointly Build 'Invisible Guardian' for Nursing Homes, AI Detects Elderly Falls in Seconds
Among people over 65 in China, 3 out of 10 have experienced falls, and 70% of fatal falls occur in private spaces like bedrooms and bathrooms. Traditional camera monitoring is resisted due to privacy concerns, making it hard to balance safety and privacy.
China Mobile and Huawei jointly launched the country's first '3D light perception + camera + FTTR' smart elderly care solution at Lanxi County Central Nursing Home in Heilongjiang. Using laser radar to generate 3D point clouds, it only recognizes body contours without privacy leaks. It detects falls in seconds and triggers triple alerts, with an accuracy rate over 95%, allowing the elderly to enjoy safe services without feeling monitored.
